ABOUT LUCKY NUMBER SIX

What is the book about?

Four strangers, the sole survivors of a Chicago massacre, thought they’d escaped the worst—until a vengeful woman appears, claiming they stole her luck. As their lives unravel, they face a chilling question: What if their survival was never meant to be? In this psychological thriller with a supernatural twist, escaping death was only the beginning…

I didn’t set out to write a psychological thriller—or even a novel following four different characters. The story just took shape as I wrote. I didn’t have a strict outline, but I kept coming back to one idea: luck. It’s everywhere—in success, failure, survival, tragedy. And the more I thought about it, the more I wondered: Who, if anyone, controls that luck? That question kept me writing.

Many writers are driven by a desire to explore universal questions—about identity, love, mortality, faith, and power. For me, it was luck. How much of our lives is shaped by choice, and how much by chance? That question kept me writing. Other themes naturally surfaced—survival, guilt, resilience, faith—but luck was always at the heart of the story. Writing became my way of untangling those complexities and, hopefully, asking the right questions.

I honestly don’t know yet. It was meant to be a standalone, but luck has a funny way of pulling you in unexpected directions…

Anyone young adult and older who enjoys psychological thrillers with a twist of the unexpected.

About the Writing Process

How long did it take you to write the book?

It took me three years. Some days the words flew; other days, it felt like dragging a boulder uphill. There were plenty of late nights, early mornings, and more tears than I’d like to admit. But every moment was worth it.

No, not at all. The story kept surprising me, right up until the end. And, honestly, I kind of liked it that way.

Writing from four different characters’ perspectives. Finding each voice—what made them unique, what shaped them, what they were hiding—that was the real challenge.

No, they’re purely fictional. Though sometimes, I wonder if bits and pieces of people I’ve met slipped in without me realizing it.

About the Author

Is this your first book?

This is my first published book. I did try writing one in my twenties—a semi-biography—but let’s just say it wasn’t quite ready for the world.

I really hope so. I already have a few ideas I’m exploring, and one of them might just take hold.
